Welcome, and thank you for visiting my website.
By leading with compassion, authenticity, honesty and humour, my objective is to create a space where people can feel safe, supported, and understood. I respect that we all have our own individual stories, which often influence our decisions and behaviors. My approach is holistic and gentle, assisting and supporting adults from a wide range of backgrounds and ages with a variety of concerns and problems.
Having received clinical training at The Tivoli Institute in Dun Laoghaire, I have the skills to provide psychotherapy and counselling for a broad range of life difficulties. I hold a clinical Masters in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (level 9) and I am a fully accredited member of the IACP (Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).
Continuing to attend a variety of courses and training seminars is part of my commitment to lifelong learning and professional and personal growth.
Working integratively, I tailor my practice to the unique needs of each person, using various approaches derived from a combination of person centred, psychodynamic, gestalt, psychosynthesis, CBT, existential, attachment and trauma informed teachings.
I hold a belief in the intimate relationship between the mind and body, as well as the interconnectedness and mutual effect of thoughts, emotions, and experiences.
Providing psychoeducation and resources for somatic therapies is often part of the process used, to assist clients in developing the resources within themselves to self-regulate and move out of a distress response into a higher functioning mode where they can think more clearly.
MY Areas of Interests INCLUDE:
Trauma (Childhood & Adult)/ Anxiety/ Depression/ Loss/ Grief/ Relationship Difficulties/ Low self-esteem/
Addiction/ Existential/ Fatherhood/ Motherhood & Mid-Life Issues.
Counselling and Psychotherapy both offer a safe environment where you can explore any difficulties that you may be experiencing. Counselling tends to be shorter term therapy and can be useful when looking to address certain behaviour patterns and/or life situations. Psychotherapy focuses on working with clients for a longer term and allows the exploration of how underlying issues from the past affect our emotions, behaviours and relationships in the present. This can be a key process in achieving our full potential.
Services are provided to adults in a supportive, confidential and safe environment, either face to face in Dundrum, Dublin South and Wicklow Town or Online.
Positive outcomes are possible when we work collaboratively.
In Celtic cultures Birch symbolises growth, renewal, stability, initiation, and adaptability.
It is a symbol of new beginnings, often in spite of a harsh environment.
It is a symbol of hope.
